Director's Message
National Centre for Human Genome Studies and Research is a newly established department in Panjab University. I see NCHGSR as an institution with the feel and human scale of a small department but the intellectual resources of a big school, with its excellent postgraduate students and staff members. We are proud of our students who work hard with sincerity and dedication to learn the current knowledge of biotechnology, genomics, proteomics, and cutting edge research both in theory and practice. Apart from regular coursework our students participate in organizing seminars, conferences, quiz contests, sped valuable time in various prestigious research institutes of our country, and directly interact with doctors and patients in the hospitals to get first hand knowledge on genetic diseases and their treatment, get into the interactive seminars and so on. We are committed to continue the achievements of our students and the future success will be built on their efforts. I am sure they would be highly successful in various professional environments particularly in the area of research and development related to human genome, pharmacogenomics, bioinformatics and molecular biology in general.
