NCHGSR supports well equipped laboratories, catering to
the extensive research and practical work in the
disciplines of molecular biology, cell biology,
Cytogenetics, proteomics, bio-informatics etc.
At
present, the centre facilitates various laboratories
accoutered with essential and sophisticated instruments.
The different labs are coordinately used for the PhD and
dissertation work of 4th semester M.Sc
students. The labs maintain a good stock of routinely used
chemicals. |

The Lab, used for focussed research program, cultures and
maintains various cancer cell lines (H460, A547 etc.) on
which work is being carried out to understand molecular
mechanisms involved in the inhibition of different cancers
using various small molecules |

centre has a state of art research laboratory with dark
room facility, used by the PhD students for their research
work.

centre has two PG labs. to carry out practical work and
training of first and final year students of M.Sc (human
Genomics).

better understand the various realms of genomics and
proteomics the centre supports a bio-informatics lab.
equipped with computers and internet facility. The
computers are installed with recent versions of different
softwares required to carry out computational biology
work.

Alongwith each lab having its own basic instruments, a
separate instrument lab is present to house the
sophisticated instruments commonly used in routine and
high end research experiments.

The Library |

The
library houses a variety of books of latest editions
pertaining to vast fields of biochemistry, cell biology,
molecular biology, basic genetics, cytogenetics,
immunology, proteomics, cancer research, bio-informatics,
various encyclopedias, practical manuals etc. The library
has online subscription to various international journals
like nature, PNAS etc. which expose the students with the
latest update in the field of science. |
