	National Centre for Human Genome Studies and Research organized a workshop " Atom for Peace", conducted by eminent Scientists from Bhaba Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai for the Educational purpose for the professionals and the farmers from April 6-8,2004 NCHGSR is proud to have organized the 28th All India Cell Biology Conference and symposium on genome biology from December 1-3,2004 Students of batch 2007-09 visited Banaras Hindu University for 31st All India Cell Biology Conference in december 2007. Students of batch 2007-09 visited NIPER on open day to get an insight into the research activities carried out in Biotechnology and Molecular Biology Labs Some students of MSc Human Genomics attended International Conference in Medical Genetics in PGIMER, Chandigarh

	Regular Departmental Seminars
	Distinguished scientists from different institutions (IMTECH, NIPER, JNU, DU, BHU, and ACTREC) are invited every month to deliver a talk on their on going research activities, to familiarize the students with recent research activities. Prof. J.K.Roy from BHU delivered a talk on Developmental Biology of Drosophila in 2005. Prof. L.S. Shashidhara from CCMB Hyderabad delivered a lecture on Comparative and Functional Genomics in 2006. Prof. Pradeep Sinha from IIT, KANPUR delivered a lecture on Genetic Basis of Developmental Designs: Lessons for the Fly Model in 2006. Dr. Rita Mulherkar from ACTREC delivered a lecture on Gene Therapy for Cancer in 2006. Prof. Bharat Aggarwal from USA delivered a lecture in 2004. Dr. Kulbhushan Tikoo from NIPER delivered a lecture on Histone code Hypothesis, Covalent Modifications of Histones as Therapeutic Targets in 2004. Dr. D.V. Rai from Panjab University delivered a lecture on Bioelectricity in 2004. Departmental seminars are held every Saturday on topics related to the frontiers of Molecular Biology and Genomics.



	Foreign Visitors
	Prof. Kapil Mehta, President, IACR, USA visited the laboratory in December 2003 and attended the Cell Biology Conference organized by NCHGSR in December 2004. Prof. B.B. Aggarwal, M.D. Anderson Cancer Centre, USA visited the NCHGSR laboratory in November 2003. Dr. K. Scheller, Germany attended the cell biology conference organized by NCHGSR in December 2004.
